There's plenty of examples of other Ubisoft franchises like Assassin's Creed appearing as subtle nods in these games, though with this release, the developer has made sure fans can find connections to past Far Cry games as well. While Far Cry 6 doesn't seem to have a clear connection to previous games in terms of its story, Ubisoft isn't afraid to provide plenty of clues and Easter eggs for longtime fans to find. While the game itself doesn't reinvent the wheel with new ideas, it does manage to bring a few fresh ideas or evolve some features from previous titles like Far Cry: New Dawn. This time around, players are taken to the Cuba-inspired island of Yara to become a Guerrilla Fighter against the oppressive rule of Anton Castillo played by the charismatic Giancarlo Esposito.
